Lessons learned from 29c3

I'm back from 29C3 and it was awesome! Lessons learned for the next year:


  • You can not escape the Hackerpest!

  • Pack at least a full set of clothes for every day (including new trousers for every day), if you plan to spend even a second in the smokers area.

  • Bring heavy shoes for walking around outside and light shoes for walking around at CCH.

  • Have a look at the Workshop schedule beforehand and use a schedule app (or write one) that includes the workshops and other auxiliary events.

  • Don't be such a geek and talk to more people and ask more questions at the assemblies.

  • Bring more stuff if you have additional space in your case.

  • Bring an extra bag to carry stuff around at the conference.

  • If you can afford it, book a room at the Radisson Blu (the hotel directly connected to the CCH).

  • Prepare yourself to explain all your ongoing projects in less than 5 minutes.

  • Arrive at day 0 or even day -1.
